#24: Escort Cards vs. Place Cards

Escort cards and place cards. Did you know there was a difference? Thanks to David Tutera, my gay-husband (ok I just really really like him) and star/host/wedding planner extraordinaire of WE tv's My Fair Wedding, I now know there is indeed a difference.

Escort cards are usually placed on a large table, in alphabetical order by last name.  This card just contains the guest's name and their table number/name.

Place cards are actually on the tables. They dictate where that guest is going to sit. This commonly only contains the guest's name and is placed on top of their place setting.

There's your lesson for the day. Be honest, did you know there was a difference?

For our wedding, we are planning on doing a large poster with table names and guests' names, rather than escort cards.  I'm pretty sure we'll be doing place cards as well.

Side note: We're getting close to submitting all our information/pictures to our photographer, who is making and designing our custom wedding website! Can't wait to show you all the final product!!
